Material Girls - A Quilt and Caint (Chat) Workshop
Join Mary O’Connor, Angela Jordan, Claire Daniels, and Eilís Watson in a casual workshop on the joys of quilting. Quilting in Ireland emerged in the 18th century, initially introduced by the wealthy. Over time, the craft became a functional necessity adapted by rural communities using scavenged and recycled fabrics. Today, Ireland boasts a vibrant quilting culture rooted in local heritage, iconic patterns, and modern storytelling.
Materials will be provided, or feel free to bring along your own ongoing projects. Various quilts will also be on display for inspiration and perusal. These will remain on display for the duration of Heritage Week.
On street parking available. Restrooms available in Adair Hall.
