
Guided Tour of James Fort

From 1604 to 1690, James Fort played a pivotal role in Kinsales history. Designed to both intimidate and protect Kinsale it suffered neglect in times of peace and intense wartime sieges.
During its short but exciting history soldiers, adventurers and pirates marched through its gates. Discover their stories on our special guided tour during heritage week with William Butler.
Free Event but Limited to 25/30 people on the guided tour. Pre-booking is essential by emailing: charlesfort@opw.ie with a contact number and how many tickets you require. First come first served basis.
Meeting place: In front of the Dock Pub by the walkway leading up to James Fort.
Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Please be aware of uneven terrain, low lintels and slippery grass areas. Suitable footwear is a must. A good level of mobility is required.
