Guided Tour of Enniscorthy's Revolutionary Past

The event will celebrate the rich history and heritage of Enniscorthy through a programme of guided historical tours and film screenings. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Athenaeum and learn about its significance within the town's social, cultural, and political history.

The event will conclude with screenings of The Shadow of Freedom and The Shadow of Tyranny, two films produced by the award-winning local organisation Wexford Film Workshop. These films depict key events surrounding the 1916 Rising in Enniscorthy, offering audiences an engaging and accessible insight into the town's revolutionary past.

Together, the tours and screenings will promote local heritage, encourage community engagement, and foster a deeper appreciation of Enniscorthy's unique place in Irish history.
