Guided Heritage Tour of Oliver Goldsmith Country.

On Friday the 21st of August the Oliver Goldsmith Committee with the support of National Heritage Week will conduct a guided tour around the Oliver Goldsmith sites between 6pm and 8pm.

The tour will visit the sights and places associated with the great 18th century Poet, Dramatist and Novelist, Oliver Goldsmith.
Please join the tour at the three Jolly Pigeons N37 R8F2 at 6pm on Friday August the 21st. The tour will then proceed to the Goldsmith Monument at Ballymahon Community library at 6.15pm. You may also start and finish the Tour at Ballymahon Library.

The tour will include visits to Forgney Church, the Schoolhouse and Busy Mill sites 7pm. Lissoy Parsonage, Kilkenny West Church, The Hawthorn Bush and the site of the Ale House, finishing at the Three Jolly Pigeons or the Goldsmith Monument at Ballymahon Library.

The tour will involve some limited walking so bring along appropriate footwear and rainwear if necessary.
Following the conclusion of the tour at 8pm, the committee will present an evening of traditional music, song and readings from Goldsmiths works in one of the region's best known traditional, authentic pubs. "The Three Jolly Pigeons".
