
Green Guardians: Exploring the web of life

This engaging and accessible session, led by Nature Northwest's Aengus Kennedy, offers a clear introduction to biodiversity using simple language and real-life specimens. Participants will explore what biodiversity is, why it’s vital to life on Earth, and the challenges it faces today. The course will highlight how protecting wildlife and restoring habitats can help tackle the climate crisis.
As part of the session, participants will also be introduced to the National Biodiversity Data Centre and shown how to record their own wildlife sightings to contribute to national conservation efforts. We will also look at he EU Nature Restoration Law and what it means for Ireland. This is a fun and inspiring session designed to connect people with nature and empower them to take action.
