Genealogy Clinic

A series of family history clinics facilitated by local genealogists, to introduce and aid members of the public to research their family history using Laois Local Studies and online resources. Hour long sessions will provide one-to-one assistance for family history beginners who would like to start their family tree or more advanced family historians who have encountered an obstacle in their research. Places are limited. Booking is essential.

A 5 generation ancestry chart is available to download and print when you register on our booking system. To make the most of your appointment please print the chart, fill in where possible, and bring to your clinic appointment. If you do not have access to a printer please collect a chart from the desk in Portlaoise Library.
