Galway & the Cultural Revolution Guided Walking Tour
Take a walk through Galway’s cultural heritage where we discuss the efforts to restore and preserve a cultural heritage at risk. In the late 19th century, Galway became an important location of the burgeoning national theatre, literature, and language movements. We will visit Galway’s theatres, monuments and locations that narrate this important period. We will also revisit the legacy of Lady Gregory, Yeats, JM Synge, James Joyce, Micheál Mac Liamóir, and Tom Murphy amongst many more.
Meeting point: outside the Tigh Neachtain's Pub, 17 Cross Street Upper.
