From Fairs to Rebellion: A History of The Fair Green Kilcock and unveiling of Story Board

The Fair Green of Kilcock has been an integral part of the locality since Norman times. It has been the backdrop for social, economic, cultural, political and military events most notably the 1798 Rebellion. In recent times, The Fair Green could be classified as heritage at risk due to plans as part of the DART+ project to essentially carve up the green space for additional car parking.

Kilcock Heritage and Historical Society are rigorously campaigning to protect and preserve The Fair Green. We will unveil our story board charting the history, significance and legacy of The Fair Green and share the important story of this cherished historical antiquity.
