From Benchmarks to Jostle Stones to Postboxes - Hidden Secrets of Birr Walking Tour

Taking place on Saturday, 15th August at 11.00am why not explore some of the lesser known fascinating architectural details of Birr.

Join local historian and tour guide Richard Jack as he takes us on a stroll around Birr where he will recall the benchmarks, jostle stones and post boxes of the town. Learn about these gems which have been part of our town since the 1800's but are nowadays hiding in plain sight. He will discuss their origins, their functions and storied histories.

This walk and talk is outdoors and it is recommended to bring suitable footwear and raingear if necessary. The event will commence from Emmet Square, Birr and last approximately 2 Hours. All are welcome.
