Join experimental archaeologist Holger Lönze and artist Karen Hendy for a fascinating demonstration of how ancient objects such as trumpets, axe heads and brooches were made in prehistoric and medieval times. Holger is a sculptor and archaeologist who has been commissioned by Kerry County Museum to re-create medieval and Bronze Age artefacts for the museum’s educational handling collection.

On Thursday 20 & Friday 21 August Holger and Karen will demonstrate their skills outside the museum and families can learn how to make their own wax moulds. This is a special opportunity to learn about prehistoric crafts and how objects were made. This drop-in event is suitable for all ages and abilities. Free entry - no booking required, all are welcome. Please note that the entrance is via the Tralee Tourist Information Office and that children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
