National Heritage Week is a time to step out and discover what’s on your own doorstep. Take the opportunity to go on a guided tour with one or our enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides who will bring the story of Charles Fort to life. From military architecture to strict disciplinary rules and from siege warfare to the lives of the soldiers and their families, there are many tales to uncover. After the tour why not relax in our cafe and soak up the sumptuous views of Kinsale harbour.
Charles Fort Military Fortress is normally a fee paying site but we have free admission on Saturday 15th August 2026.
Give yourself at least one hour to explore the site, three exhibitions and to take a guided tour. The Charles Fort Cáfe shall be open.
