Foundations of Ballyjamesduff – A Heritage Patchwork Afternoon invites the whole community to celebrate the rich history and shared stories that shape our town. This free, family-friendly event offers a unique, interactive experience for all ages.

At the heart of the afternoon is the Living Community Canvas—a large illustrated map of Ballyjamesduff where participants create and add colourful “patches” representing their personal or family connections to the town. These patches can include words, drawings, names, or memories placed on the map at meaningful locations, creating a vibrant, evolving tapestry of local heritage.

Visitors can also bring heritage-related objects to share stories, enjoy a curated photo exhibition in partnership with the Ballyjamesduff Heritage Society, and participate in children’s activities such as colouring and family tree worksheets. Light refreshments will be available, providing a welcoming space for conversation and community connection.

This event celebrates the foundations of Ballyjamesduff by fostering intergenerational dialogue and community pride. No booking is required—just drop in and join us in exploring the places, people, and memories that make our town special.
