Flora & Foraging Family Day at Lees Road Park, Ennis

Join The Feeding Tree for a free, hands-on family day exploring the wild plant life of John O'Sullivan Park, Lees Road, Ennis. This Heritage Week event invites all ages to slow down and really look at the natural heritage, the flora we walk past every day but rarely learn to name.

Across the afternoon, families can move between activity stations at their own pace:
Flora Identification: guided walks to spot and name common woodland and hedgerow species
Ground Ivy Bracelets: foraging and weaving with wild ground ivy
Blind Taste Test: a playful (and safe!) introduction to edible woodland species, guided by trained facilitators
Scavenger Hunt: a self-led trail encouraging close observation of the park's plant life
Clay Plant Prints: pressing leaves and seed heads into clay to take home as a lasting record of the day
Making sun Catchers with leaves and flowers

The event is run by The Feeding Tree, a community-rooted forest school based in Ennis, delivering nature-based education for children, families, and adults across Clare. All activities are outdoor, free of charge, and suitable for all ages. No experience or prior knowledge needed, just curiosity.
