A walk into the wild - the search for the Old Irish Goat
23 August, 9:30am - 12pm
- Starting Point: Old Irish Goat Centre, Survey Meeting Point: Mulranny Railway Station
- Old Irish Goat Centre, Mulranny,
- F28X213
- Co. Mayo
Join us for an educational tour at the Old Irish Goat Centre, where you will learn about the history and heritage of the Old Irish Goat, and how they intertwined with so much of our Irish identity and cultural heritage. Then learn more about the physical characteristics, and join us for a "walk into the wild" where you will join us on a survey of the local wild herd, and help us to count Mulranny's Old Irish Goats based on their breed characteristics.
At this time of year the goats have moved into higher ground so being able to see the herd is challenging at times and we may need to use scopes to view the herd.
