We would like to invite members of the general public, local community groups, and all other interested parties, to join a host of international attendees at our 2025 Mannion Clan Gathering for this two-part, day-long event, focused on the exploration of the origins, history and heritage of the ancient Ó Mainnín / Mannion Clan of East Galway.
(1) Falling on Day 2 of the three-day annual Mannion Clan Gathering, the first event will comprise a guided tour of The Mannion Clan Historical Trail, beginning in the car park of Frank Mannion's Lounge Bar, Abbeyknockmoy (H54 RW94) at 10.30 am, and finishing at the same location at approximately 5.30 pm.
(2) The second event will take place in Thompson's Pub, Menlough (H53 XY36) from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm, and will feature the introduction and screening of Phase 2 of 'The Mannion Clan Historical Trail / Conair Stairiúla Chlann Uí Mhainnín', a bilingual StoryMap funded by the Heritage Council. This will be followed by illustrated presentations outlining the foundational roots and various branches of the Mannion Clan in East and West Galway, utilising a broad spectrum of DNA test results. Light refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
