Exploring Ross Island
On Saturday, August 15 and August 22, join OPW guide Conal Guilfoyle for an informative walk on Ross Island. Conal will point out features associated with a copper mining tradition dating back to 2300BC. He will also dig into the wonderful natural heritage on this amazing peninsula, telling us a little about the flora and fauna that thrive there and the challenges that face it and us, in a fast-changing world. Conal’s talk will start at the yew tree in the castle courtyard at midday on both dates. Numbers are limited so please email rosscastle@opw.ie to book your spot.
