Water Heritage Day, Newry. Nature and History by the Canal from the Museum of Childhood Ireland with Sticky Fingers Arts. A family Walk and Explore, then Create Workshop. 'Exploring Our Foundations' on Water Heritage Day provides the perfect opportunity for acknowledgement of the importance of local rivers, lakes, canals and coastal areas to our lives in the past, present and into the future.
This engaging family event celebrates Ireland's rich waterway heritage through hands-on exploration and creative expression. Participants will embark on a nature walk along Newry's historic canal system, discovering the vital role waterways played in shaping local communities, trade, and childhood experiences. The adventure continues with a creative workshop where families transform their observations and discoveries into lasting memories through art and craft activities.
