  • Milford Community Library
  • Public Services Centre, Milford
  • F92 PY9F

Enjoy a pop up exhibition of a coastal community archive with images and recordings of how life was with a talk from Máire Nic Fhearraigh, community engagement officer with the Machaire Beo / LIFE on Machair conservation project and Fidelma Maher, coastal ecologist with National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Raising awareness of how special and unique our coastal areas are in the West and North West of Ireland. The farming families and communities descended from farming backgrounds are at the heart of our work.

Machair grassland which lies behind the sand dunes supports a variety of rare beautiful wildflowers and herbs which are essential for the survival of some of our bees, butterflies and moths and supports our breeding wader species of birds.
