Echoes of County Clare: Recorded Voices Across the Generations

Exploring Clare Through Recorded Memory is a special online Heritage Week event presented by Clare Heritage Office, Clare County Council, in collaboration with Mac Conmara Heritage Consulting, showcasing the work underway as part of the Clare Audit of Oral Heritage Collections.

Through a curated selection of recordings spanning from the earliest days of oral history collecting to the present, the event will highlight the extraordinary breadth of Clare's recorded heritage, memories, folklore, music, traditions, local history and everyday life, while tracing the development of oral history recording across the decades. It offers a unique opportunity to experience the richness of Clare's recorded voices and to explore the importance of documenting, preserving and celebrating this invaluable heritage for future generations.

The event forms part of the Clare Audit of Oral Heritage Collections, a county-wide initiative led by the Heritage Office of Clare County Council and delivered by Mac Conmara Heritage Consulting, in partnership with Cuimhneamh an Chláir, with funding from The Heritage Council.
