Dudley Lifeboat - Heritage Talk
The General R Dudley Blake was one of four lifeboats stationed at Blackrock in the early 1900 as direct result of the establishment of a permanent lifeboat station in the village in 1900. The lifeboats saved almost 200 lives during their lifetime until the lifeboat station was moved to Clogherhead. This lifeboat was acquired by the Blackrock Tourism Group and a project to restore it as a tourist attraction is underway with assistance from the Heritage Council Of Ireland.
