DISCOVERING THE BOYNE’S ALLUVIAL WOODLAND AT OLDBRIDGE

Oldbridge Tidy Towns is pleased to invite you to join ecologist and author Pádraic Fogarty for a guided walk along the Boyne Greenway exploring the alluvial woodland along the River Boyne at Oldbridge – a special riverside habitat shaped by water, flooding and the natural processes of the river.

Discover what makes these woodlands distinctive, the plants and wildlife they support, the pressures they face, and why protecting and restoring them matters for the wider health of the Boyne landscape.

The walk will also explore how understanding the habitats already present in our local area can help inform better biodiversity action and community stewardship.

Walk: Mary McAleese Bridge to Oldbridge House
Duration: Approx. 60 minutes
Parking: Please note there is no onstreet parking but free parking is available at Oldbridge House. The OPW have suggested that parking is in lower bays of the car park as they will be ones less crowded at the time of our walk. You will then need to walk to the entrance gates to meet, after the talk you will need to walk back to the car park and you can enjoy the facilities at Oldbridge House before or after the event.
