Dartrey and Rockcorry Heritage Weekend will take place from Friday, 21st - Sunday, 23rd August, 2026.
On Friday, 21st August, Le Cheile Choir from Cootehill will open our Heritage Weekend with a special concert of music and poetry in St. John the Evangelist Church, Dartrey at 7.30pm.
On Saturday, 22nd August, 2026, an historic talk on the Dawson Family from Dartrey Castle will take place in St. John the Evangelist Church, Dartrey, followed by a tour of the graveyard by Mr. Noel Carleton. Afternoon tea will be served in marquees on the church grounds. A photograph exhibition of past and present events at Dartrey will also be on display in the church.
On Sunday, 23rd August, 2026, a guided heritage walk of Rockcorry Village, starting at the old school where John Robert Gregg, inventor of shorthand, was a pupil, will commence at 3pm, led by Mrs. Hazel Speares. This will be followed by afternoon tea and a photograph exhibition of past and present events in Rockcorry in the old school.
Dartrey and Rockcorry Heritage Weekend will conclude with a Service of Thanksgiving for our Heritage in St. James’s Church, Rockcorry at 7.30pm with Bishop Ellis as our special preacher.
