Create a Calligraphy Illuminated Bookmark Sunday

Join Artist Dawn Sayers from 2-3 p.m on Sunday August 16th to learn a little about medieval calligraphy and illumination for an hour at Sigginstown Castle. You will use watercolors to create your own illuminated medieval-style bookmark and enjoy doodling in the margins like the monks of old! Dawn will show you the letters of the alphabet in calligraphy and you can pick one or two to use as the main character, then fill in the rest with illumination.

This low cost art workshop (€10) is suitable for adults and children ages 12 and up (accompanied by parent or guardian). Take an optional tour at 12:30 p.m (or 2:30 p.m. for non-artists in your group) and be inspired by some of our own illumination-style artwork in the tower! (Separate ticket applies).
