Join us for a special public event marking National Heritage Week 2026, as we share the story so far of the Coastal Heritage Audit of Courtown, Riverchapel and Ardamine, a major project uncovering and recording the built, archaeological and natural heritage of our coastline and village.

Delivered by Anú Heritage (built heritage & conservation), Slaneyside Heritage (archaeology), Natasha Ariff (ecologist) and Lorraine O'Dwyer (folklorist) working with Courtown Riverchapel Community Development Group and Courtown Heritage Group, the audit is exploring everything from Courtown Harbour, our native woodlands, our coastal dunes, Riverchapel's village core and ecclesiastical sites and the wider hinterland.

What's happening on the day:

A presentation on the project and its emerging findings. A chance to see early heritage discoveries and see how the audit is mapping our area's history.
An open floor discussion for local knowledge, memories and stories this project runs on community input!

Whether you're interested in maritime history, archaeology, wildlife, or simply want to know more about the place you call home, this event is for everyone with a connection to Courtown, Riverchapel and Ardamine.

Free and open to all — no booking required.

Come along, ask questions and help shape the future of our shared heritage.
