Cork Heritage Open Day

15 August, 9am - 6pm

  • All over cork city
  • Co. Cork City

Cork Heritage Open Day is a unique day long event celebrating the amazing architecture and history of the Built Heritage in Cork City. The 2026 National Heritage Week theme is Heritage at Risk and it invites us to delve into the building blocks of our heritage; not just the structures, but the landscapes and cultural activities that have shaped us.

This is celebrated throughout Cork Heritage Open Day and will see some of Cork’s most fascinating buildings from the Historic to the Military, the Civic to the Commercial and the Educational to the Sacred Spaces open their doors for one day only.

This year Cork Heritage Open Day is celebrating it's 21st birthday, having started with 30 venues to a record 42 venues participating in 2026.

Entry to all these buildings is free of charge. However, in the case of a few events due to space restrictions and increasing popularity you will be required to book your place in advance. You must present your ticket on the day as refused entry may cause offence.

Cork Heritage Open Day is organised by Cork City Council as part of Heritage Week in partnership with the Heritage Council.
