Common Ground
Step back in time and discover how local clay was traditionally used to make bricks and pottery in pre-Famine Monaghan. During two hands-on sessions, from 11:00am–12:30pm and 2:00pm–3:30pm, participants will learn simple clay-processing techniques and pottery-making methods using locally sourced materials.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, this interactive workshop invites visitors to create their own traditional pinch pot, which will be displayed as part of the exhibition and later fired in the kiln. Join us for an engaging creative experience that celebrates sustainability, craftsmanship, and Monaghan’s rich heritage of making and creating with local materials.
