Comhrá Cois Cósta: Oileán Béara – Logainmneacha Mara
Join us for a unique Heritage Week gathering on Bere Island where the Irish language meets the living history of our shores.
We invite you to sit down for a relaxed comhrá with tea and apple pie, sharing stories and practicing your Irish, whether you are a fluent speaker or just starting out. As we talk, we will be collecting and mapping Bere Island place names of the sea, from coastal rocks and hidden coves to forgotten fishing grounds. Every strand, cliff, and inlet has a name that tells a story, and we want to ensure these pieces of local maritime heritage are preserved before they vanish from living memory.
Come along to share a name you know, learn a new one, or simply enjoy afternoon of community, culture, and connection to the sea.
