Changing Seasons, Changing Times - Kilkenny's Living Heritage
From farming, fishing and turf-cutting to cures and pastimes, our living heritage has been handed down to us across the generations. However, recent changes in climate and lifestyle risk unique aspects of our living heritage being forgotten and lost forever.
Join the Athrú project team for a community conversation where you will have an opportunity to share your memories and stories of the practices, traditions, skills, crafts and knowledges that make your community and its living heritage unique. The project team will share examples of local living heritage from the School's Folklore Collection from the 1930s and provide examples of the living heritage aspects they have collected in Kilkenny to date.
Refreshments will be provided. This is a free event, no advance booking is required.
