As part of National Heritage Week, the Western Family History Association will host a talk on Census Records of the 20th Century in the Galway City Library, St Augustine Street, Galway. The event will be on 18th August 2026, commencing at 10:30 a.m. Following a short talk, members of the WFHA will be available for one-to-one advice sessions on searching census records and other sources for family history research.

With the recent release of the 1926 Census, family historians now have invaluable access to the Irish Census Records of 1901, 1911 and 1926. The talk will explain how to access and search these records, explore the differences between them and highlight some notable people. The event is open to the public, is free to attend, and will conclude at 13:30.
