Brontës: Love and Honour - A Musical Celebration

'Brontës: Love and Honour', is a melodic tribute to the celebrated 19th century Brontë family of Yorkshire. This melodic cycle of ten studio-recorded songs was written by the well known composer Michael O'Dowd and his wife Christine.
The cycle relates the joys and sorrows of the family in music and lyrics with linking dialogue and illustrations to provide ambience and clarity. This will be a truly delightful and enchanting experience for all attending.
The Brontë family had very strong associations with Ireland. Patrick was born in County Down and his first novel was called The Maid Of Killarney. Charlotte Brontë married Arthur Bell Nicholls of Banagher, County Offaly. The song Charlotte's Way warmly recalls her honeymoon visit to that town in July 1854. Charlotte's Way, now a guesthouse, was Arthur's home for forty-five years after Charlotte's untimely death in 1855.
This event had its world premiere in Banagher, County Offaly in April 2026. A richly illustrated deluxe programme with the words of all songs will be available on the day for just €5.
