The Brian Friel Centre invite you to view at first hand a variety of historical and cultural resources relating to Brian Friel and the local history of Glenties. The real history and places of County Donegal were the inspiration for many of Friel's plays and short stories. The Glenties area was the foundation of the fictional world of Brian Friel's Ballybeg.

Come along and hear about the variety of resources connected to Brian Friel and Glenties. See and explore local archives connected to the Glenties area; browse books and view online resources. There will be short introductory talks, followed by an opportunity for YOU to explore items more closely.

View real archives from Donegal. Browse a specially selected array of books by and about Brian Friel from the County Library: plays, biographies and short stories. View online websites about Brian Friel. Meet the experts: librarians, archivists and curators, who will guide you through a selection of the amazing resources available in Donegal County libraries, archive and museums and beyond. Continue with a visit to the Glenties Museum for a special FREE ENTRY DAY over the road. Here you can see local artefacts, including posters of Brian Friel's plays and much more.
