Booterstown Marsh Nature Reserve finding Invasives

Booterstown Marsh is the only wetland in south Dublin home to a host of plants and wildlife. As a Special Protection Area for Birds it is a sanctuary for our overwintering birds to feed and rest. Our event will focus on our projects to survey, locate and remove invasive plant species from this precious fragile landscape.

At 12.30pm there will be an introductory talk on An Taisce's present projects at the nature reserve given by Rebecca Jeffares. At 1pm botanist Catriona Brady will lead the group on to the marsh to look at the beautiful plant species and the invasive cord grass and grey poplar trees which pose a threat to the wetland and discuss the action being take to remove them. Please wear waterproof boots or wellies as the ground is usually quite wet
