'BOGLANDS'
Bogland
Photographs of the in-between space where east meets west on the shores of a great river.
A place of multilayered history,
ever mutable and unknowable.
Strange conjunctions of materials, substances and forgotten objects.
Surfaces shift and structures disappear but the earth remains, and from the black desert, greenness and viriiditas return.
Lambda archival prints diabond
CE Ní Chathasaigh is originally from south Co.Longford and had lived abroad for many years before returning to live in Co.Waterford. Despite spending time in the dramatic landscapes of Australia and Canada, home remains her enduring inspiration. These pictures of bogland form part of a larger body of work focused on the midlands.
Exhibition running from 15th -23rd August inclusive, from 10 -5 daily.
