Ballinakill Abbey Tour

Join local historian and caretaker of Ballinakill Abbey Marty Ward, Galway Community Archaeologist Bernie Doherty and Heritage Officer Marie Mannion on this special tour of Ballinakill Abbey. The abbey is located in north east Galway close to the village of Glinsk. The abbey dates to the 13th Century, with a later C16th addition, possibly built by the Burke family. This addition contains an effigy to William Burke and Burke memorials. This site is located within a visible early ecclesiastical enclosure.
