Art in the Wild - Journaling in an Ancient Irish Wood

Did you know that only 2% of Ireland's native woodland remains today?
The massive forests that used to cover our countryside in the past have been reduced over the centuries. This interactive workshop is our creative way to explore the beauty of what is left, connect with our heritage, and discover how we can protect these vital ecosystems together!

Why Tomnafinnoge Wood?
Tomnafinnoge Wood is a rare, precious fragment of ancient oak woodland that has survived for centuries. It offers a living window into Ireland's natural past and provides the perfect backdrop to step back in time, slow down and immerse yourself in nature.

Event details
Meeting Time: 11:00 AM (The event will run for approximately 2 hours, with flexible timing if you need to leave early).
Meeting Point: Meet at the Tomnafinnoge Wood Car Park.
Materials: You are very welcome to bring your own creative supplies. However, NPWS guides will provide plenty of raw materials and plain journals to get you started!
Guided walk: A gentle, short walk with stops along the way to observe and journal.
Woodland picnic: Feel free to pack your own lunch, snacks or flasks for a relaxed community picnic in the woods after our walk.
Booking essential: Free event. Places are strictly limited. Advance booking is required to secure your spot.
Participants: Suitables for ages 8 and upward.
Dogs (excepting guide dogs) not permitted.
