Always a Journey, Never a Destination

16 August, 2:30pm - 4pm

  • The Burren Visitor Centre
  • The Square, Kilfenora, Co Clare
  • V95 W523
  • Co. Clare

A screening of a 30-minute film capturing the prose, poetry, music and landscape of County Clare -and in particular the Burren - will be accompanied by a talk by its producer Oliver O’Connell, and some live music with Oliver and Micky Dunne. Oliver will also provide a preview of a biography he is publishing about Brian Mooney, founder of both the Burren Visitor Centre and the Burren Perfumery.

This film, described as a ‘love letter to Clare’, has gained international plaudits, but is rightfully here being shown in the Burren itself. Musical contributions in the film are from Finbar Furey, Blackie O’Connell, Níamh Dunne, Micky Dunne and many more.

Oliver O’Connell is a musician, storyteller, and author, living in the heart of the Burren. Mickey Dunne is a world renowned uilleann piper from Co. Limerick, life president of the Thomond Pipers Club in Limerick, and steeped in the traveller music tradition of his family.
