A Heritage Walk Through Letterkenny

Join Joanne, your Failte Ireland approved tour guide, on this leisurely stroll through the historic areas of Letterkenny. Hear the stories you won't find in the guide books and discover the hidden gems only locals know about.

We will begin at the Celtic Cross, where we can easily access the many interesting sites in the area, including the Cathedral of St Eunan and Colmcille, Conwal Parish Church and Sentry Hill WW1 war memorial. We will then progress to the Market Square, and on to the Main Street, where we will discover some historic shops and maybe even have a sweet treat!

Up the slight hill then to the High Road and the Museum, formerly the Letterkenny Workhouse and we will also visit the peaceful memorial garden, dedicated to those who died during the Famine. From there we will make our way up towards the castle-like St Eunan's College, on to Sentry Hill and back to the Cathedral Square,after a story-filled stroll, ready to enjoy the rest of your evening, and savour the delights of this vibrant town!

This tour is FREE for Heritage Week, normally costing €15 per adult, €10 for seniors and students. The tour runs every Monday and Wednesday (July and August) at
4 00pm and Every Sat (June to September) at 11 00am.
