Kilkenny's largest prehistoric monument, Corrandhu' or Toor More, is in N Kilkenny. Prof. Wm O Brien, UCC, who carried out an archaeological survey on Toor More, will give a talk on hillforts with particular emphasis on Toor More, in Conahy Hall, followed by a walk on the hillfort. The site comprised two concentric enclosures of 8.94ha. Which were surrounded by 2 wooden palisades that were deliberately burnt down around the twelfth century BC, at the beginning of the Late Bronze Age in Ireland.
