Together Apart: Wicklow 2020 Stories

Deirdre Burns
Heritage Officer, Wicklow County Council

Together Apart is an online 'people's archive' of Wicklow Life during the Covid pandemic 2020. During times of lockdown and restricted travel, many people found a comfort in heritage and the natural environment around. Some found more time to spend outside noticing nature, others took up new hobbies or renewed old ones. For many, even as restrictions have eased, daily lives remain altered. The project organiser set out to capture this by inviting Wicklow people to share their stories, poems, observations, artwork and photographs and have created an online archive to share these experiences and make a record of these unprecedented times for future generations. Visit Together Apart: Wicklow 2020 Stories at https://heritage.wicklowheritage.org/. This project is a joint initiative of the Heritage Office, Archives and Libraries services of Wicklow County Council.
