Ballinamore Community Hall CLG
The recently completed renovation of Ballinamore Community Hall and its re-branding as The Island Theatre is intended to renew the heritage of the hall as a centre for the dramatic, musical, and social activities of the community of Ballinamore and its surrounding areas. This once old and drab building is now totally transformed. A new ancillary hall is added to the side and the existing hall will have a new sound and lighting system along with provision for a cinema screen and projector. Customised retractable seating will have a capacity for 240 people. The hall was originally built in the early 20th century on an island encircled by the Yellow River and the Ballinamore – Ballyconnell Canal. For Heritage Week the Hall Committee is extending an invitation to the various committees in and around Ballinamore to inspect the renovated building and to help to re-imagine ways in which we can build on this heritage in these changed times. In order to make this opportunity available to all who wish to avail of it, groups will be invited to visit the hall in accordance with the latest social distancing guidelines over the course of Heritage Week.
