Roscommon County Council
'Regenerating Roscommon Town's Spire Quarter' is focused on an area in the town of significant relevance to Roscommon's heritage and a key historical era in the development of the town. The ecclesiastical landmark developments which define this quarter include: St. Coman’s Church of Ireland built 1778; Sacred Heart RC Church built 1897-1903; Roscommon Methodist Church built 1905. The Regeneration Unit of Roscommon County Council in collaboration with the County Roscommon Historical and Archaeological Society, Roscommon Chamber of Commerce and the Roscommon Community Tourism Action Group, (all of whom are members of Roscommon Town Team) see a significant opportunity to rejuvenate the Roscommon Town Spire Quarter. It is intended that details of this project can be presented via PowerPoint, and public health advice allows a street walk and presentation could be facilitated during National Heritage Week 2020.
