National Scavenger Hunt: Discovering Our Heritage

SPAB Ireland
SPAB Ireland

This project will focus on exploring and engaging with heritage. This scavenger hunt will comprise a set of questions which will be sent to participants and published on SPAB Ireland's social media at the start of Heritage Week. Participants will then have until the end of the week to submit their completed questionnaires. The questions will direct participants to engage with their local and national heritage. Some questions will require that participants find an example of built heritage (e.g. a carved headstone pre-dating 1850) in their local area and submit a photo with it. Some questions will direct participants to a specific building on Google StreetView (e.g. how many windows are there on the front facade of the GPO). SPAB Ireland hopes that the questions will enable participants to look at and engage with their local and national heritage in a new way. The project will be shared online through a link to an online form, which participants can fill in and automatically return to SPAB Ireland. The form will include the ages of the participants, so that winners in different age categories can be chosen.
