Feltmakers Ireland wants to share a skill that was used in Ireland over 500 years ago. Did you know that Felt was used to make clothes in 1500 AD in Ireland. So felting is a really old craft! Since 2003, Feltmakers Ireland has been reviving the very old skill of felt making. During lockdown its members could not meet face-to-face and decided to marry learning the very old skill of felting with modern day skill of technology. Three Feltmakers Ireland videos are now available on YouTube with easy to follow instructions. Felting allows you to do your bit for the environment and keeping an old craft alive. All you need is wool with a small amount of water and soap and lots of “elbow grease”- all natural resources. You can turn your coils and baubles into insects, aliens, jewelry, crazy critters, monsters, or anything weird and creative you can imagine. Here are the links that you will need: 1.
