Help Kilkenny's Bees

Dearbhala Ledwidge
Kilkenny County Council Heritage Office

Did you know that bees are threatened by extinction? The good news is that there’s lots you can do to help save Kilkenny’s bees, and Heritage Week is a great time to start! Why not get the whole family involved. The Heritage Office of Kilkenny County Council has lots of great resources to help you protect the bees on your doorstep. Here’s some suggestions: 1. Raise awareness by wearing one of our specially designed bee badges; 2. Protect habitats and the environment by using one of our reusable cloth bee bags; 3. Make your garden biodiversity friendly, with helpful hints from the "Gardening for Biodiversity" booklet; 4. Make your school, community, garden, farm or business pollinator friendly. See the videos and booklets available on www.pollinators.ie; 5. Have fun in the classroom, with our bilingual “Save the Bees” poster. Copies of these resources can be requested from the Heritage Office of Kilkenny County Council. Due to limited resources unfortunately we can only provide these materials within Co. Kilkenny. We’d love to see you how you are helping the bees, so please share photos of what you do. Kilkenny County Council is a proud supporter of the All Ireland Pollinator Plan www.pollinators.ie
