Experimental Patterns in Archaeology through Print

Celebrate National Heritage Week with artist Claire Halpin and Solstice Arts Centre. Go on a journey of experimental printmaking inspired by the ancient Boyne Valley passage tomb mounds at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. Exploring the shapes, patterns and images which have been interpreted as the sun, moon and the human face this hands-on workshop combines the ancient craft of mark-making and print with historic symbolism and interpretative meaning. Using an array of different materials, print surfaces and textures this hands-on workshop on Wednesday, 19th August 2020 is suitable for children aged 9-12 years.
