Hidden away on the mantle over the fireplace in the library at Farmleigh House is a bust of Tim Buckley. Tim Buckley was a story teller immortalised in a famous book by Eric Cross, titled “The Tailor and Ansty”. This book, its content and the lifestyle of Tim Buckley “The Tailor”, caused uproar when it was published in 1943 and indeed sparked a controversial debate in the Senate which lasted for four days. This presentation will bring to life the Tailor and discuss his wonderful Life in Gouganbarra Co Cork and the creation of the Bust by his good friend Seamus Murphy.
