The Glacial Landscape of Clew Bay

Did you know Clew Bay has as many islands as days in a year?  Hear about the glacial history of Clew Bay and the origin of its drumlins, admiring its evening scenery from the slope of Croagh Patrick beside St Patrick himself.

Free Guided Tours of Saint Senan's 6th century monastic settlement including the famous high round tower, ruins of 6 churches, holy well and hear also about the island's maritime history.

Military History Guided Walk

Join islander & local historian Chris O'Sullivan for a walk around the east end of Bere Island. Learn about the island's unique place in world history as a strategic British military base during WW1.

 

Sheelin Boat Tour

Whiddy Island

Ellen Hutchins Festival event: An exciting chance to discover the seaweeds along Whiddy Island's shore with Dr Susan Steele (SFPA) and try identifying & preserving seaweed specimens 1800s style.
