A community archaeological survey was recently carried out at Rath Airthir, Donaghpatrick by Kevin Barton, Archeological Geophysicist, who will undertake a presentation & discussion of the survey.
Rath Airthir is a very impressive monument identified as a trivallate ring-fort. Its name means Eastern Fort. It consists of a ring-fort with large banks and ditches with sycamore trees. The fort has been converted to an Anglo-Norman motte and bailey.
