Dig It - Archaeology for Children

Dig It - Archaeology for Children

26 August, 11am - 5pm

  • Roscommon County Council
  • Lough Key Forest & Activity Park, Boyle
  • Co. Roscommon

"Dig It" is a fun, educational, hands-on archaeological experience for ages 3+, where they will carry out a 'mini excavation' with the promise of hidden treasure.

Using safe, child-friendly tools (wooden and plastic 'trowels' and brushes), children are invited to help two experienced archaeologists carry out a supervised 'mini-excavation' with the promise of buried secrets and a surprise or two! Warning - children will be digging in garden peat and, like grown-up archaeologists, can get a little dirty! This is an outdoor event - please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
