The Heritage Council is once again delighted to announce the National Heritage Week Event Awards, showcasing the best of National Heritage Week and recognising the fantastic work of all the event organisers and volunteers that take part.

The winners of the 2015 Awards have now been announced. See full details here.

The 2015 Award categories are as follows:

Heritage Hero

Do you know someone who always goes the extra mile for heritage? Nominate an individual or organisation who makes an outstanding contribution to the protection and promotion of heritage in your local area, particularly during National Heritage Week. Anyone can nominate a Heritage Hero.

Hidden Heritage

Did your event shine a light on Ireland’s hidden heritage? This award is open to event organisers who successfully explored lesser known aspects of Ireland’s heritage during National Heritage Week. All National Heritage Week Event Organisers can enter.

Reaching Out

Did you organise an event that reached out to new audiences? Maybe you made your event wheelchair accessible, offered multilingual tours or even made an event specifically for teenagers.  This award is open to event organisers who helped more people enjoy National Heritage Week. All National Heritage Week Event Organisers can enter.

Cool for Kids

Did you organise a great family event? This award is open to event organisers who encouraged children and families to participate in National Heritage Week. All National Heritage Week Event Organisers can enter.

We will contact successful applicants in November.

Recipients will be honoured at a Heritage Council event in February 2016.
